Dave Rimmer joined Uriah Heep in March 2013 as a replacement for Trevor Bolder, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Prior to this he was a member of Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction since early 2000, writing and recording on two albums Rock Savage (2005, Cosmodelic Records) and We are Volsung (2010, SPV/Steamhammer). He is also a regular member of legendary Camden Town rock covers band Metalworks, featuring Richie Faulkner from Judas Priest, Les Binks (ex-Judas Priest), Pete Friesen (ex- The Almighty/Alice Cooper) and many other prestigious guests.
Dave started playing bass at the age of 11 years old. He was self-taught, playing along with vinyl records such as Queen, Uriah Heep, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Van Halen and so on. His bass influences are John Deacon, Trevor Bolder, Geezer Butler, Bob Daisley, Neil Murray, Billy Sheehan, James Lomenzo, Juan Alderete. With Billy Sheehan being one of his sources of inspiration, it seems fitting that Dave uses Billy Sheehan’s signature Rotosound strings, as well as Rotosound Swing Bass strings.
What Davey Rimmer says about Rotosound
‘Rotosound provide that classic grind, which no other string can produce!’
