Glasgow’s Twin Atlantic are a band you’re likely to hear a lot from this year. Fresh from T in The Park and currently touring America, these 4 Scottish boys are on a massive roll. Having already notched up appearances supporting blink 182 and My Chemical Romance, they’re now winning massive crowds and brilliant reviews of their latest album, Free. Produced by influential producer, Gil Norton (who has worked with Pixies and Foo Fighters), you can expect songs with heart and soul, along with a good dose of Scottish heritage. ‘I was unbelievably excited to be working with Gil – he’s been at the helm of a handful of my favourite records, including The Colour And The Shape which single-handedly made me decide that I needed to play in a band,’ says drummer Craig. The result is an album packed with strong, confident tracks. You’ll find songs about love, songs with a party vibe and some heavier, grungy music too. Above all, their music is packed with authenticity and the band’s own voice – refreshing, at a time when so many new bands are the result of talent shows. As Sam, the lead vocalist and guitarist, puts it: ‘Why would you tell a personal story in anyone else’s voice but your own?’. Twin Atlantic’s bassist, Ross McNae, uses our RB45 strings.
